Once you're on the editing screen of a collection development policy, you'll see a Title field followed by Summary and Detail Summary blocks.
The Summary and Detail Summary blocks appear on the backend of every page on the site, but we won't be utilizing them for collection development policies so you can scroll past those.
The same is true for the Image, Image Caption, and Header blocks. Continue to scroll down to where it says Main.
This is where you'll find the Layout - Content Aside block mentioned in the previous video. Click on Edit to the far right to edit its nested contents.
Within the Content Aside block, first you'll see a Title field, which you should leave blank, followed by a Content field where the optional introductory message can be entered, though most policies don't require this and will leave it blank as well.
Next is the main content side of the Content Aside labeled Content - Component here on the back end. This contains the series of accordions mentioned in the previous video.
The Title field should be left blank.
Accordion Toggle, which allows users to expand or collapse all accordions at once, should be set to On.
And the Container Width can remain at None.
Next you'll see the Accordion Items containing the majority of the collection development policy's information. Most of these sections will consist of a title, which is required, entered in the Title field, followed by basic text paragraphs in the Description field.
Note that all titles and headings should be entered in title case. If you come across any titles or headings that are still in sentence case after having been migrated from the old site, please update them accordingly.
Sections may contain italic text, links, headings, and tables, as often seen in the Subjects Collected and Levels of Collecting section.
In the next couple of videos, we'll discuss how you can use the toolbars at the top of the text editor to apply some of these styles. Make sure to watch the video on tables before editing tables inside your accordion items.
After all accordion items have been updated, you'll see options for Borders and Margins. These should be set to None. You may find that you need to add or remove accordion items based on the updates you'd like to make. We'll look at how you can do that in an upcoming video as well.
Continue to scroll down and you'll see the Aside - Title, or sidebar title.
If there's only one bibliographer, the title will be Bibliographer.
If more than one, please change it to be plural.
If there are no bibliographers to enter, leave both the Aside - Title and the Referenced Card, coming up next, blank.
Under Aside, then Card - Referenced Card, start typing in the name of the bibliographer. As you do so, a dropdown with possible profile titles will appear. Make sure to choose from this list as it will ensure that your field pulls in all necessary information to display a contact card.
To add an additional bibliographer, click the arrow next to the button that says Add Aside - Quicklinks and choose Add Card - Referenced Card instead. Then repeat the steps to choose a staff profile.
Borders should be set to None, margins to Margins Top and Bottom, and Padding and Background Color both can be set to None.
You can ignore the Add Paragraph button and everything below as we don't require any of those fields.
The final step is to ensure that the policy's breadcrumbs are set correctly. To do so, head to Menu Settings in the right sidebar of the editing screen.
The Menu Link Title should be the title of your collection development policy. Description can be left blank. And the Parent Link is "---- Collection Development," which is a child of Collections.
Click the Save button and you're done editing your collection development policy.
