This workshop recording teaches researchers how to use DMPTool, a free online open-source tool, to write Data Management & Sharing Plans (DMSP). After this session, learners will:
- understand the basic components of a DMSP,
- understand how to utilize DMPTool to streamline their DMSP writing, and
- recognize on campus data management support.
This will also help prepare researchers for the new NIH Data Management & Sharing Policy which requires all researchers receiving funding from the NIH to write a DMSP. The main audience for this session are researchers who are writing a DMSP for a grant proposal, but those who are interested in writing a DMSP for project management purposes, such as for lab or team environments, and not for a grant submission are encouraged to join.
This session is in partnership between the Leon Levy Dental Medicine Library and the Research Data & Digital Scholarship department of the Penn Libraries. Although this session is focused on dental researchers, content will be applicable to all research fields and all are welcome to view this recording.
